In one of my favourite photos of my grandmother, Helen Price<\/a>, she is relaxing in a little boat moored in the rushes along the shore of a lake somewhere in Ontario\u2019s cottage country. Almost certainly, it was her soon-to-be husband, Harley Warner<\/a>, who took the photo [but see the update at the end of this post<\/em>].<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n She\u2019s 23 and very stylish in her tie, cardigan, dress with a calf-length skirt, dark stockings and low-heeled boots. On her lap is a mildly thumbed magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
